No worries. No one talks about alternative digital painting technique, but the tablet isn't actually that important. It's just a time saver. All you really need to make a digital image is a computer, and some kind of program that will display and provides editing mechanisms for bitmaps (or vectors). It was done this way for decades before Wacom came.
